This Moore-French-English dictionary is the product of several years of work. The Mossi call their language Moore. Over 8 million Burkinabè speak the Moore language. Several phonetic and lexical differences characterize the main dialects (see map below). These differences, however, seem to have no effect on the inter-comprehension.
From a linguistic point of view, the Moore language is classified by Greenberg (1963) under Niger-Congo, Gur, Oti-volta as shown in the following schema.
